Julia Belluz offers 9 somewhat general thoughts about what it takes to be a weight-loss success story — a mix of information (about the “goodness” of different types of food, based on their nutritional value) and recommendations about mindset. Consistent themes are “ask questions,” “everyone is a little different,” and “focus on the steps you need to take to be successful.” The experts she interviews include Brian Wansink, Yoni Freedhoff, and Arya Sharma, and emphasize sustainable habits that address your personal sticking points. “Surprisingly simple tips from 20 experts about how to lose weight and keep it off” is full of terrific navigational skills for anyone mapping out a weight-loss goal.
